FAQ: How do I fix bad breath?<\/h3>\n

Bad breath is caused by many things that we treat with preventative dentistry<\/a>, such as gum disease. However, if you have a good bill of health and still struggle with bad breath, consider what you eat. Dieting can make your breath smell, as can dehydration. Also consider quitting smoking if you do, and be sure to check that your medications are not causing bad breath. Untreated diabetes and liver problems could also be the culprit.

FAQ: How can I tell if my gums are healthy?<\/h3>\n

Unhealthy gums appear red, puffy, or are receding or pulling away from teeth. You may notice random bleeding, tenderness, and loose teeth, as well as pus around the base of your teeth and new spacing between teeth.<\/p>\n

FAQ: How often should I brush and floss?<\/h3>\n

For the best oral health, we recommend brushing at least twice per day, or after every meal if possible. Floss at least once per day, preferably before brushing. You may also wish to use a mouth rinse after brushing and flossing to get any remaining bacteria or particles out of your mouth. Do not forget that once or twice yearly checkups with your general dentist are just as important for your oral health!<\/p>\n
